Maybe because of the reluctance to want to change things that u just let things continue.

Maybe you just don’t enjoy it and hence the numbness…

Maybe you can do something to change things and stop this vicious cycle..

Maybe you ask yourself if you really want to stop it and be determined.

Sometimes there are so many factors influnencing your decision that what you are doing is not something you want to do.

Are you a puppet controlled by the surrounding environment or do you want to gain back your control?

When decisions are difficult.
When u need to sacrific one thing for another.
When pros and cons need to be considered.
When u need to consider other’s feelings.
When it affects your closest friend.
When it affects your immediate family.
When it affects you.
When ur intergrity or moral values are at stake.

When making a difficult choice, how can you not lose yourself and at the same time carry your decision out with determination?

The sun blessed us with a not too hot day,

The clouds blessed us with a no rain day,

The people blessed us with a not too crowded sentosa,

Kaleos, Kronus, Kajas blessed us with a great turnout.

Everyone hopefully had fun.

Although Kronus and Kaja lost to Kaleos, it was not a big deal.

Anyway the main point wasn’t the competition at first.

It’s good to have fun after exams.

It’s even better with so many good friends around.

I had an enjoyable day.

  Today on the way to my grandmother’s house, i listened to a radio broadcast.

  It was a sailor’s narration of his mission trip to a poor african country.

  He said that once he went to an african country (which i cant get the name). The country has been embroiled in civil war for a long time. It has a large population but many of the citizens were killed in this long lasting civil war. Needless to say, the country is very poor and her people are suffering in poverty.

American volunteers came to this village to teach the people english. Like how we always teach children english, we started with ABCs. So they started teaching them  " A for apples , B for Bananas, C for Cat etc ." There was once, after lunch, the teacher asked the pupils " What did you eat for lunch ? Apples ? "

Then one by one replied " Water, nothing, nothing, water, nothing , water . " Almost all the replies were water and nothing. All the volunteers were stumped. And this created a big impression on the sailor.

He said that there were plenty of food on the ship and clean water was easy to get but these people had nothing. While we have our daily 3 meals, clean water, electricity,lights, entertainment, they have nothing. They already don’t have anything for lunch, how can they have apples? They had most probably never seen apples , bananas and cat before. and if there was any cat, it will probably eaten by the hungry people.

It’s puzzling why the world still have starving people when the world has produced enough food for everyone . Isnt it an irony when we are throwing leftover food into rubbish bin at night when millions of people are going to sleep starving? Why is it that everytime i walked into the canteen and the food court to see so many food half eaten and being left on the table? Why do people waste food for the sake of maintain a slim figure?  Why are there so many whys?

Food should not be treated this way. In the past when food doesnt come so easily, people used to worship and pray to god so that they can get enough of it. Food is respected and not wasted away. Now, food comes so easily that we no longer cherish it. We choose what we eat, when we don’t like it we throw it away.

My dad is a farmer. i saw how much blood and sweat that has been put into for the vegetables to grow. They have to work from morning till night. I believe other kind of food requires such hard work. So i always try my best to finish my all my food. Furthermore, there are many other people who are lack of food. What makes you think that you deserve the food more than them and you can waste them away?

Because of poor goverance, polictics and human selfish nature, food cannot get to those who need them. We as small citizens cannot change this big fact and providing food for all the people starving. What we can do is to jus donate money to organisations which can reach these people , hope the money wont get corrupted away and don’t waste your food. Remember that we should never take things for granted, we should cherish the things that we are bewstowed upon and thank god that we are the fortunate lot.

im going Usa next year… and i got no money….. but still i applied…. and jus paid $1433 for the program fees..

Lirong says it’s stupid to spend alot of money to go there and work while Pei Pei says she dont want to make a decision for next year now. Me, being stupid and agressive, made up my mind very fast. Im joining the USA work and travel program 2007.

Im going to Yellowstone National Park , some ulu ulu place where you can get murdered without anyone discovering. Maybe the grizzly bears will find me and chew up my dead body. My ah ma, Hong hong and lin lin will be  very sad and cry for a few days. My sister and mother will probably cry until their face becomes soggy.. My brother probably will be very happy. 

Anyway, im using "future money" to go there. I dont have $3500 ++ to get there so i borrowed money from my little aunt. She is very supportive of me going there. She thinks it’s a good opportunity to experience new things. I got to return the money when i earn enough and come back. i calculated that i will get to earn $2300 ++ there, so i am lacking $1000 plus i need $500 for my expenses.. that’s $$1500 !!!!!! i need to save that much within half a month. haiz …

I seriously hope to win a car in a lucky draw and sell it. then i can repay the money and plan for more trips overseas or maybe save up ! at the rate im going, i feel that i will go bankrupt when i leave NTU….

So guys… im really trying very hard to save money…. i spent like only $2 on my lunch everyday… i cant afford western food and other food that is more than $2. So please forgive me if you discover me staring at your chicken katsu don or chicken cutlet longingly during lunch time. Ignore me, dun offer me any food and i will steal one piece of chicken when you are not paying attention. :X

  while trying to make fun of alric ..  i was inspired and drew these rubbish in msn .. haha…   seems that i like to make fun of ppl alot … -_-

i read the newspaper today…… and i saw a report about this australian muslim cleric commenting about sexual assaults to women..

he said that sexual assaults might not happen if women wore a hijab and stayed at home. He described women who do not dress modestly as "uncovered meat"

This is what he said…. " if you take out uncovered meat and place it outside on the street, or in the garden or in the park, or in the backyard without a cover, and the cats come and eat it… whose fault is it , the cats or the uncovered meat?"  " The uncovered meat is the problem. If she was in her room, in her hijab, no problem would have occurred."

Firstly, referring women as uncovered meat is very wrong. How can anyone refer a human being as a piece of meat.. it’s belittling.. we are reduced from a subject into an object. 

Secondly, does it mean that if all women wore hijab , covered themselves from top to bottom, no one gets rape, molested or harrassed???  it’s wrong to push the society’s problem to women. it seems that he is not aware it’s MEN preception of women that is causing the problem. If men had respected women, he wouldn’t have rape her . to the rapist, maybe women is merely a sex doll … Why didn’t he say that the fault is on himself because he didnt do his part in incalculating the right values into his believers and other non believers and thus leading these rape cases?  i believe he himself does not respect women at all.

Thirdly, he used cats as a metaphor to the rapists. Cats do not have the ability to think as a man can. Cat is an animal you cannot expect to tell it to respect other sex and tell him the correct value. When a  male cat forces himself on another cat, we take it as nothing and says it’s the natural cycle… nothing wrong .. By using cat as a reference, does it mean that we take it as that the rapist doesnt not have the ability to do higher order thinking and hence forgive him about the rape?

Next, by saying that the women should wear hijab and stay in the ROOM is another totally wrong remark… imagine i ask you to cover yourself from top to bottom and DON’T go out .. what will you feel ??? …. Women have suffered so much before we gain the level of equility we have now.. How can he negate the achievements of working ladies and say that we should stay in home ??? As society progress, religious thinking should progress too…  People seem to enjoying themselves when they are able to oppress and belittle someone else.      maybe somewhere in the religious teachings said that women should take care of their home and their children, blah blah blah..  i believe, somewhere else also says that men should not abuse or rape women.. Why is it that he condemned women and not the rapists???

Finally if you say that both the cat and the meat is not in the wrong. The one who took the meat out is the problem . i should slap you left right and center..  do you mean that the husbands , father or the family members are in the wrong . they should keep the girl all wrapped up at home ???

The message that the cleric is sending is that,

" ALL WOMEN WHO DON’T COVER THEMSELVES THROUGHOUTLY AND STAY AT HOME SHOULD BE RAPE !!!!!!!  ORBI !!! "

what he say is so insensitive.. He did not spare any thought to the rape victims. You would be angry if i force shit into your mouth ( provided you dun enjoy shit ) what’s more if someone force himself on you and having an enjoyable time during the intercourse while you are suffering and unable to retalliate. Imagine a third party tells alot of ppl you deserve the shit cos you didnt cover your face with a mask. How will you feel …

some ppl may feel that he should be rape himself so that he understand the whole matter. i wouldnt agree. what we hate, we shouldnt ask someone else to encounter it to..  己所不欲，勿斯余人。。。 (dunno whether what i write is the correct words anot)…

It’s interesting to talk to a child.. Through talking with him, you see how he understand and remember things. He is ignorant of many things thus there is always a different perception involved.

i went to my grandmother’s house on monday and i was asked to fetch jia hong home from her tuition. I brought issac along with me as he pestered me to. Along the way, we will pass by a coffeeshop my grandfather used to frequent. While walking towards it, i recalled how i can always find him sitting there drinking coffee and watching people play chess. And then, Issac suddenly said," 阿公以前坐那里" and he pointed at the group of old men. i was quite stunned. He was only 3 when my grandfather died and he still remembers seeing my grandfather sitting there. Out of curiousity, i asked him ," 阿公现在在哪里?". He said " 阿公眼睛眯眯 ….." and then he thought for a long time and said he dunno.

Maybe at the age of 3 he could already remember things and make sense of it his own way but i was still shocked at our conversation. Yet, it was quite a relief that he still remembers my grandfather.

My grandfather didnt pamper him for nothing ..
